There is something artistic and sacred about these Deer Trod Dolls Face plaques, hand made and designed by artisan jewellery maker Angie Da Silva and available via Fuelled by Female.
A Deer Trod is a pathway followed by the Goddess of the Woodland; an ancestral route that reindeer would take throughout the changing seasons.
A wilderness woman at heart, the Goddess marvelled at the beautiful world which she shared with all forms of life, her respecting the beauty, intricacy and sophistication of all living things and how they were connected, remaining always close with nature and following the deer whenever they decided it was time to venture to a different place.
This stunning face is mounted on beech wood collected from the wild woodland situated at the back of Higherford Mill, Barrowford. The face itself, which has a serene expression, sits in a silver mount; and copper antlers give a unique and magical finish to this piece.
This is a one-off bespoke item, and comes complete with a signed certificate of authenticity.
The plaque itself measures approximately 4 inches in length and 2.25 inches at its widest point. The dolls face is approximately 1.5 inches, and the antlers approximately 1.25 inches. A brass hook on the back of the plaque enables you to hang this piece on the wall.
