On 4th April, Fuelled by Female installed their exhibition in the Lounge Bar at The Mechanics Theatre, Burnley. It was all systems go as we decked out four 8ft by 4ft boards with our unique artwork, showcasing a superb range of framed prints in various sizes as part of their Changing Exhibitions.
Most of the prints on display in the exhibition are for sale and can be purchased via the box office at the Theatre. Over the next week we shall be listing each piece for sale via our Boutique (if they are not listed already), however framed prints can only be sent once they have been removed from the exhibition in June.
Our frames offer an eclectic mix and have been sourced for their aesthetic appeal, with each print selected to suit the frame. Our frames are both new and used, with the used frames giving a truly unique style to the artwork. It is unlikely we shall come across some of these frames again, hence they are offered as one-off pieces.
One week after we launched the exhibition, BBC Radio Lancs broadcast their morning show live from the Lounge and Daniel was interviewed on the radio to talk about the concepts behind his art. One of the interviewers, Sally Naden, commented on his distinctive style, with the words playful, sensual, and 70’s pop art being some of the terms she used.
The Lounge is open daily and for every theatre performance, with it serving up over 80 different gins as well as other enjoyable fluids! There are some great performances planned for the duration of the exhibition, from An Evening With Paul Gascoigne, KLF, and Big Band Boogie, to ballet, opera, and an some good ol’ rock and roll (see here for details).
A video camera was set-up during installation of the exhibition, and it can be seen here.
If you would like to meet us at the exhibition between now and the beginning of June, drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
